ASTANA. On November 7, 2026, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Kazakhstan for an official visit at the invitation of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

During the visit, the two heads of state held high-level talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding the strategic partnership between the two countries. The discussions focused on developing trade and economic cooperation, attracting investment, energy, transport and logistics, agriculture, as well as cultural and humanitarian ties.

Particular attention was paid to increasing bilateral trade. In the first nine months of 2026, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan reached USD 1.13 billion, representing a 25.6% increase compared to the same period last year. In addition, the Kazakhstan–Tajikistan Business Forum was held as part of the visit. Following the forum, 11 agreements worth a total of USD 135.3 million were signed.

The agreements aim to strengthen business ties and promote joint projects across various sectors of the economy. President Emomali Rahmon’s visit is also significant in terms of strengthening regional cooperation and maintaining stability in Central Asia. The agreements reached during the visit are expected to give new momentum to bilateral cooperation and further strengthen friendly and good-neighbourly relations between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
